ハマーのような民間向けモデルもあり?
11月1日、GMは新型軍用水素燃料電池車のシボレー・コロラドZH2について、主要諸元を発表した。それによるとコロラドZH2のボディサイズは全長210.5×全幅84.5(含ドアミラー)×全高79.8インチ(約5347×2146×2027mm)でホイールベースは133.5インチ(約3391mm)、最低地上高は12インチ(約305mm)で、乾燥重量は6038ポンド(約2739kg)とのことだ。
コロラドZH2は一般市販モデルのコロラドとキャビンやドア、ルーフなどのコンポーネンツを共用しており、キャビン位置は37インチ径のオフロード用タイヤを装着するために125mm後退させている。また、エンジンフードは燃料電池スタックを収容するために中央部が盛り上げられており、冷却系は高温環境に対応するため、市販モデルよりも後方にマウントしているそうだ。
ボンネットや前後フェンダー、ハッチドアはケブラーで補強したカーボンファイバー製で、30インチのLEDライトバー、専用ウィンカー、7インチのヘッドライトを搭載。電源供給車としては、240Vまたは120Vの直流電流を出力し、定格25kW、最大50kWの電力を供給できる。
燃料電池の出力は93kWで、駆動用電気モーターの最高出力は132kW(約179ps)。電気モーターの出力は前後の電気式差動制限デファレンシャルを経由し、4輪へと伝えられる。なお、最高速度は60mph(約97km/h)以上とされている。
コロラドZH2は2017年初頭より評価段階に入り、仕上げられる予定。かつてGMが市販していたハマーのように、これをベースにした市販モデルが作られる可能性もあるかもしれない。
